Meet Hinge’s New Love and Connection Expert: Moe Ari Brown, LMFT
Moe will support Hinge’s ongoing mission of becoming the most inclusive global dating app for all daters.
Hinge is introducing its first-ever Love and Connection Expert, Moe Ari Brown, to provide daters with the tools they need to find and build healthy relationships. Pairing Hinge’s research with their expertise in LGBTQIA+ relationships, Moe will be at the forefront of building an inclusive dating space where all singles can find love, both in the app and offline.
As a leading mental health expert in the realm of Transgender Identity, Moe will offer daters their advice and expertise on establishing meaningful connections in the LGBTQIA+ community and creating healthier relationships. Moe will also work with Hinge to ensure that its app experience supports all identities and that daters feel empowered to present their true selves through their profiles.
Over the past decade, Moe has worked with LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families on their journey of self-love and creating connections. They are also a Diversity & Equity Consultant and former Adjunct Professor at Adler University. Moe graduated from Northwestern University with an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy.
“I’ve had the honor of sitting with a multitude of humans and one thing is true, we all share a desire for belonging, authenticity, and love. Additionally, as a Black transgender masculine person, I know what it is like to be dating, exploring my identities, experiencing marginalization in society and still having the audacity to show up on a dating app authentically," said Moe Ari Brown. “I’m joining Hinge to continue making connections accessible for anyone looking for love and tailoring the dating experience toward safety, visibility, and euphoria for LGBTQIA+ people.”
Hinge has continuously introduced initiatives to support LGBTQIA+ singles on their journeys of self-expression and finding relationships. In May, Hinge launched Mental Health Advocates of Tomorrow to increase therapy access for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ daters. With the support of GLAAD, Hinge released new Prompts earlier this year to help LGBTQIA+ daters better connect based on similarities, interests, and compatibility. Additionally, Hinge became the first mainstream dating app last year to have an algorithm with gender selections that include “non-binary.” The app offers a range of representation choices singles can add to their profile to better express themselves, including pronouns, sexual orientation options, more than 50 gender options, and the ability to write in their gender.
